OUR HISTORY

From Vícar (Almería) to the World

CapGen Seeds (Capital Genetic EBT, S.L.) was founded in 2009 in Vícar, Almería, with a clear idea: to improve horticultural genetics from the field itself. Since then we have opened our own R&D centres in Gran Canaria — tomato, cucumber and papaya — and in Agadir, Morocco — pepper, eggplant, bean and pea —, developed more than one hundred varieties and taken our seeds to more than 40 countries. Today we are a multidisciplinary team of more than forty researchers and specialists who combine traditional breeding with the most advanced biotechnology.

International presence

Our seeds, in over 40 countries

CapGen Seeds’ seeds are now grown in more than 40 countries. We develop them in our own R&D centres in Spain (Vícar and Gran Canaria) and Morocco (Agadir), trial them also in Mexico and Italy — where in 2024 we opened our own subsidiary, CapGen Seeds Italy — and support them on the ground with our own commercial team in Europe, the Maghreb, the Middle East and the Americas.

We don’t export a closed catalogue nor rely solely on third parties: we breed, trial and produce seed in our own centres, and we adapt the genetics to the conditions of each area.
